Easter 2012

We had quite the busy day this Easter.  As mentioned in the last post, Popo was still in the hospital and that meant he, Lolo and Momo had gone nearly 24 hours without seeing Nathan (clearly unacceptable).  So, after going to church with mom, Kelley and the kids, Nathan and I stopped by Memorial Hermann to visit for a few minutes.  Nathan wore the Easter outfit that Momo and Popo bought for him and he received many compliments.  Jimmy said Nathan was either going looking for Easter "bunnies" or waiting for his tee time.  Silly daddy.  We also took pictures of Allen and Tyley, who was wearing the Easter dress her daddy bought for her.  We asked her to put her arms up like a ballerina (since her dress was good for swooshing) and of course you can't pose like a ballerina without spinning in a circle!

Before we left the house we opened Nathan's last birthday present from the day before.  I had held one back expecting Lori and the grandparents to come back from the hospital check up and wanted them to get to see him open something.  I'm not sure who likes the tunnel more...Nathan or the cats!  We also opened Nathan's three (yes....three...) Easter baskets.  Next year I'm going to just ask for contributions to 1 basket...this child is so spoiled!

Also on the agenda for the morning before leaving for church...fort building.  Allen used Nathan's truck (that has a little bed) to "haul" the alphabet mat into the front room to build a fort for Nathan.  Tyley was clearly a huge help!  Unfortunately those mats aren't really made to stack up well, so the fort never fulfilled its ultimate destiny.

After we left the hospital we went on to Uncle Skipper and Aunt Dayle's house for a very good lunch.  I didn't take any pictures, but we got to see Tommy, Shirley, Tyler and Cynthia.  Nathan was all over the place but did sit in my lap long enough for me to eat lunch (sort of ). I had to feed him beans and potato salad to keep him still and mom had to cut my meat since I only had one hand to work with.

We took home leftovers and met Jimmy back at the house so Nathan could get in a good nap.  He only had a few cat naps all day long and was so so tired!  After his nap we packed up some dinner essentials and went back up to the hospital to have Easter dinner with Lolo, Momo and Popo.  Everyone was excited to see Nathan again and extra excited that grandpa was feeling better and had been told he might be released the next day.

It was a long day!  But we feel so blessed to have a wonderful caring family and church to support us when times get hectic (and even when they aren't hectic).  We love you all!
